The Armada Business Alliance kicked off 2018 in style Tuesday night with a large group of Jacksonville business professionals, owners, and city leaders gathering at the RP Funding Jacksonville offices.

Attendees were first greeted outside with a red carpet, spotlights, and the giant Squid Vicious, official mascot of the Jacksonville Armada FC, before heading inside for the event.

Guests received official credentials upon arrival and made their way to the RP Funding offices for tasty, prepared-on-the-spot seared duck and spicy ahi tuna bites by 927 Events and Catering. They also provided a made-to-order nitrogen ice cream bar for sweet treats. Guests enjoyed a large selection of beverages as well, including an espresso bar by Condaxis.

Everyone networked and made connections with professionals across Jacksonville before Armada FC President and General Manager Nathan Walter took the stage. He welcomed everyone and then he introduced Head Coach Mark Lowry for a few words. Lowry described his three principles of hard work, strategy, and communication within coaching, and how that transfers over to the philosophy of the Armada FC and its business partners.

Club owner Robert Palmer stepped up next to share the current status of building a stadium for the Armada FC, as a part of his commitment to the team and Jacksonville. He described what he calls a “festival style” structure that will start with 5,000 seats and be expandable to 12,000 seats. Palmer reiterated his idea of “community-based” soccer and how this stadium fits into those plans. Now the next step is finding a location and he is working with City of Jacksonville leaders to do that.

“I want to work with the community now. I’m ready to step up to the plate. I’m ready to write the check to build this stadium,” said Palmer. “We have to find the right place to put it now.”

Walter returned to the stage and transitioned to discussing the Armada Business Alliance (ABA), the club’s distinct B2B Program that connects professionals across the city with a passion for soccer.

This year features six levels of membership, with every level receiving invitations to the unique networking events and tickets to Armada FC home matches at Hodges Stadium. Some levels include VIP matchday experiences and traditional matchday activation such as stadium advertisements. The top levels feature exclusive meetings, travel with the team and insight with Palmer, who owns multiple companies across the state of Florida.
