FAMILIAR FACES

Wednesday's game will be the second meeting this season and 10th overall between the Jacksonville Armada FC and Miami FC 2.

The last matchup was hosted by Miami FC 2 on April 28 and ended in a 1-1 draw – the first draw in history between the teams. Wesley Charpie scored a 26th minute goal to put the Armada FC on the board first. Miami came back to equalize in the 60th minute with a goal by Ariel Martínez.

Both teams played in the NASL before the NPSL this season. In the 2017 NASL season, Miami FC won all five games and did not allow the Armada to score a single goal. Miami would go on to win the Fall and Spring NASL seasons and advance to the NASL Championship, only to fall to the New York Cosmos in the Semifinals.

A BATTLE OF THE UNDEFEATED

The Jacksonville Armada FC is coming into this week's games with an undefeated NPSL season after two wins and one draw.

The team met Storm FC in Saturday’s home opener at Hodges Stadium. Derek Gebhard grabbed his first goal of the season, securing the 1-0 win for the Armada FC after an assist from Ciarán Kilduff. It was also Brian Holt’s first clean sheet of the NPSL season and held off the Storm FC with three saves.

Miami FC 2, which sits in the third rank in the NSPL Sunshine Conference Division based on points per game, is coming into Wednesday's game with a 3W-3D-0L record. The team is ahead of the Armada FC by two matches played.

Miami last shut out Boca Raton on the road 5-0 Saturday night. The goals included a brace from Jaime Chávez and a 35th-minute tap-in goal by Dylan Mares. Then, Martínez and Sean McFarlane added to the deficit in the second half.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Armada FC next hits the road for two matches in South Florida. The club will face Palm Beach United on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and then the Armada FC will visit Miami FC on Thursday, June 16 – a match that was previously scheduled for May 27, but was moved due to severe weather.
