ON THE FIELD AGAIN
The Armada FC will play its second match in three days Sunday when it hosts Boca Raton FC. It will be the second time the two teams have played, with the first match resulting in a 2-1 win for the Armada FC on May 12 in Delray Beach, Fla. after two goals by Alhassane Keita.
Jacksonville returns home after a meeting Thursday with Miami United FC in Hialeah, Fla. A 61st minute goal by Joshua Castellanos was answered by Miami in the 71st minute and knotted the final score at 1-1.
A LOOK AT THE STANDINGS
Although the Armada FC sits in second place behind Miami United FC in the NPSL Sunshine Conference with average points per match (1.83), it still is two matches behind the first place contender. With six matches to go in the regular season, the Armada FC will look to pick up as many points as possible as it catches up.
Jacksonville won both matches it hosted previously this season at Hodges Stadium with a 1-0 score. The Armada FC will now look to continue with similar success in a three-match home stretch.
LOOKING FOR POINTS
Boca Raton is looking to get a win back from the Armada FC after losing its first match against Jacksonville 2-1 on May 12 at home. The team is currently in sixth place in the NPSL Sunshine Conference with seven points. Last year the team finished with a 10L-0D-2W record in the conference.
Boca Raton received a point on the road in its last match against Miami United FC June 9, after ending in a 1-1 draw. Things were not looking good for Boca Raton late in the match until forward Matheus Ayrolla scored an equalizer in the 90th minute on an assist from Carlos Palacios.
The team has picked up two wins so far this year in the NPSL against Naples United FC on May 19 and Storm FC on May 26.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Armada FC will host Miami United FC Saturday for the second match of its three-match home stretch. This will be the third time this season the top two clubs of the NPSL Sunshine Conference have played each other, including a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match where Miami won 2-0 on May 23 in the Third Round.
