Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 Announce 16 Players to Roster

Ahead of the Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 season opener on April 30th, the team announces sixteen players to the roster with more to come in the following weeks. 

 

"A lot of familiar faces are returning for the upcoming season. We are bringing the majority of players back for the summer and have added a few new faces. Our additions will help us not only add depth but be impact players from the beginning. We feel we have gotten closer to select the profile of players that suit our Armada style of play the most and are excited to get going," said head coach Tommy Krizanovic.

 

GOALKEEPERS

 

Dominic Dominguez is a sophomore at American University, and is one of many players returning for their second season with the Armada. In his 2021 NPSL season, Dominic totaled 270 minutes played. Dominic saw action in eleven games in his debut collegiate season, starting in all eleven. In the 2021 season he logged 36 saves with an overall save percentage of 0.750. Dominic grew up in Jacksonville, where he attended Atlantic Coast High School and played club soccer at Jacksonville FC.

 

Cameron Braswell is a junior who plays his college soccer at Georgia Southern University, after playing his first two seasons at Florida Atlantic University. He is returning for his third season with the U-23 team. In the 2021 NPSL season for the Armada, Cameron aquired four clean sheets. The Jacksonville Beach native spent four years in the USSDA, where he received MVP with his 2018-19 U17 squad. Cameron also attended Fletcher High School and played club socceer for the Jacksonville FC Pro Academy.

 

DEFENDERS

 

Logan Bellone is a junior from Oral Roberts University. In 2021 The defender, from Cannes, France, led Ohio Valley University to a perfect regular season and captured the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament title. Logan joins the Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 for his second season with the squad, after starting five times and scoring two goals last year.

 

Cole Reasonover is a junior at Jacksonville University, and is a Duval County local who attended Atlantic Coast High School. He is coming back to the U-23 team for his third year after playing in 2019 and 2021. Last season for the Armada, Cole started six games and totaled 653 minutes played. He appeared five times for JU as a freshman and started four out of nine matches as a sophomore. Cole had a breakout campaign during his third season as a Dolphin, where he started in nine of the twelve games he appeared in and tallied two assists on his way to winning the ASUN Tournament Championship.

 

Alex Smith is a junior at Georgia Southern University. Although this is his first year with the U-23 team, Alex played club soccer for Jacksonville Armada where he was part of the US Development Academy Team from 2014-19. He has logged a total of four apperances during his time as an Eagle. The defender is another Jacksonville native and attended Sandalwood High School.

 

Miles Shanley is a sophomore at Flagler College who is from St. Augustine, and attended St. Augustine High School. This will be Miles' first season with the U-23 squad, however he is no stranger to the Armada having previously been in the youth setup. In his freshman season, Miles played and started in fifteen matches for the Saints. 

 

Ethan Dudley is a senior at Florida Gulf Coast University who returns for his second season with the Armada. In his first NPSL season Ethan started nine matches and tallied the second most minutes played on the roster, 803. In 2019 Ethan started in five games and appeared in eleven on his way to being named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team. In 2020 he appeared in fourteen matches for the Eagles logging nearly 400 minutes. As a junior, Ethan started all ten matches he appeared in and netted two goals. His performences in the 2021 season earned him the title of ASUN Defensive Player of the Year, ASUN First Team, and ASUN All-Tournament Team.

 

Elijah Howe is a junior from Canberra, Australia who attends the University of West Florida. The captain of the U-23 2021 squad returns for his second season in Jacksonville after starting thirteen games, the most on the team. Prior to UWF, Elijah spent two seasons at Goldey-Beacom College where he started all nineteen games in his second season. In his sophomore year Elijah registered 1642 minutes in all nineteen appearances and was named to the D2CCA All-South Region Second Team.

 

MIDFIELDERS

 

Marc Birkelund is a sophomore at Flagler College. Marc, who is originally from Højslev, Denmark, will be another new addition to the 2022 U-23 team. He has previously played for Viborg FF, Skive IK, and Højslev IF, won the Danish U-19 second division, and competed at the highest level during youth career in Denmark. In Marc's freshman year at Flagler he played in all eighteen games where he scored six goals along with five assists.

 

Josh Moreira is a sophomore at Jacksonville University from Toronto, Canada. Josh is returning for his second stint with the Armada after starting in seven games last season and playing 678 minutes. For the Dolphins in 2021 he started in eight of his nine appearances, adding one goal en route to winning the ASUN Tournament. Growing up Josh played seven years in the Toronto FC Academy of the MLS. He also represented the Canadian National Team at the U15, U16 and U17 levels and has trained with the Canadian Men's National Team.

 

Mason Turnbridge is a senior at the University of San Diego from London, England. Before USD, Mason spent two seasons at Jacksonville University. In his freshman season with the Dolphins, Mason appeared in thirteen matches and made nine starts. He also recorded two goals and was credited with two assists the same season. This will be Mason's first season as a member of the Armada.

 

FORWARDS

 

Reed Davis is a senior at Jacksonville University, who will be returning for his second season with the Jacksonville Armada FC U-23. In the 2021 NPSL season, Reed totaled 6 starts along with six goals The Fleming Island native attended Fleming Island High School, where he finished his career with 132 goals and 48 assists. He also played his club soccer at Clay County Soccer Club. In his freshman season with the Dolphins Reed appeared fifteen games and was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team, as well as the ASUN Second Team. In 2021 Reed participated in twelve games for JU, scoring a league-leading five goals, and helping his team capture the ASUN Tournament Championship.

 

Giancarlo Vaccaro is a sophomore at the University of Connecticut. The Toronto, Canada native will be joining the Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 team for a second consecutive year. In his first year with the club, the forward started eight matches and scored one goal. In 2021 the forward played and started in all eight games for the Huskies, and notched his first-career college goal.  

 

Keegan Ancelin is a sophomore at the University of West Florida. Keegan is another local product from Jacksonville, and attended both Paxon and Fletcher High School. Over a four year span, Keegan made 67 appearences for his club team Jacksonville FC. In his freshman season at UWF Keegan recorded the second most goals on the team with eleven, and was named the GSC Freshman of the Year. This will be the forward's second season with the U-23 team.

 

Maxwell Debodene is a junior at the University of Connecticut. Before UConn Maxwell played in the USSDA for DC United where he totaled 24 goals, the highest in the region. In 2021 Maxwell appeared in eight games for the Huskies, making five starts, and scoring one goal. The forward will be returning to the Armada for his second season in Jacksonville after starting in seven matches, and tallying one goal.

 

Alexandros Ierides is a graduate from the University of Memphis. The Nicosia, Cyprus native played club soccer for Apoel FC, where he participated in the UEFA Youth Champions League, and was a member of the Cyprus U17 and U19 team. Alexandros played his freshman season at Coastal Carolina University, where he scored two goals and logged an assist in 21 appearances. In his sophomore year with the Tigers Alexandros started every match, logging 1480 minutes, finishing third on the team with three goals and leading the squad with five assists. In 2019 he appeared in sixteen matches, logging over 667 minutes, scoring three goals and adding two assists. In Alexandros' first season with the U-23 squad he started in nine games, and scored six goals. After his 2021 NPSL campaign for the Armada, Alexandros joined top flight Cypriot club AC Omonia.
