JACKSONVILLE ARMADA FC U-23 ANNOUNCE 2023 MIDFIELDERS AND FORWARDS

Familiar faces return to Jacksonville

Ahead of the Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 season opener on April 29th vs. Tallahassee Soccer Club, the team announces its midfielders and forwards to the roster.

 

MIDFIELDERS

 

Linus Dahl - Linus Dahl is a 20 year old midfielder from Königstein im Taunus, Germany. Before coming to the United States, Dahl played for German side Kickers Offenbach for seven years, where he was captain. Linus would play his first year of collegiate soccer in 2021 at George Mason University. Dahl would play in 16 games, logging 1205 minutes played, and lead the team with three assists. Linus will be returning to Jacksonville for his second year with the Armada U-23 side, after scoring a goal last season.

 

Mason Tunbridge - Mason Tunbridge is a 6-foot-3, 22 year old midfielder from London, England. Tunbridge would start his college career at Jacksonville University. Over two seasons with the Dolphins, Mason would appear in 18 games, scoring three goals and assisting twice. In 2021 Tunbridge made the move to the University of San Diego. In Tunbridge’s junior year, he played in seven games, scoring two goals, and assisting three. In 2022 with the Toreros, Mason played in 19 games, led the team with six goals and five assists, and won the West Coast Conference Championship. Tunbridge was named to the 2022 All-West Region First Team and the 2022 All-WCC First Team the same year. This will be Tunbridge’s second season with the Armada U-23 squad, after scoring twice the previous year.

 

Pierce Amalberti - Pierce Amalberti is a 19 year old six foot midfielder from Jacksonville, Florida, who attended Fletcher High School. Amalberti has spent his youth career with Jacksonville FC and the Armada FC Youth Academy, and is currently playing for JFC’s U-19 MLS Next side, coached by Tommy Krizanovic. In 2022 Amalberti committed to play his college soccer at Jacksonville University. Amalberti also appeared in both of the Armada’s 2023 U.S. Open Cup matches. This will be Pierce’s third season with the Armada U-23 squad.

 

Luto Tom - Luto Tom is a 6-foot-1, 24 year old midfielder from Cape Town, South Africa. Tom started his career at Iowa Lakes Community College where he was named to the 2019 First Team All-Tournament, 2019 Second Team All-Conference and All-Region honors. Luto then transferred to East Tennessee State University, appearing in 10 games. Since 2021 Tom has played his college soccer at the University of North Florida, appearing in 20 games, scoring once, and assisting three times. During the 2023 U.S. Open Cup Tom appeared for the Armada U-23 team in two games, and accumulated an assist. This will be Luto’s second year with the Armada.

 

Toby McCallum - Toby McCallum is a 21 year old midfielder from Edinburgh, Scotland. McCallum started his college journey at Coastal Carolina University, before transferring to the University of Memphis in 2021. During his two years with the Tigers Toby has appeared in 31 games, accumulating 1896 minutes of play, assisting twice, and scoring three goals. This will be McCallum’s first season in Jacksonville with the Armada.

 

Noah Escobar - Noah Escobar is a 19 year old midfielder from Jacksonville, Florida, who attended Fleming Island High School. Escobar spent his youth career with Jacksonville FC and the Armada FC Youth Academy. Noah committed to play his college soccer at Georgia Southern University, and has since appeared in six games. In 2022, Escobar was called up to Puerto Rico’s U-20 team to participate in the CONCACAF u20 Championship. Noah will be returning to the Armada for his second season in the NPSL.

 

Teddy West - Teddy West is a 23 year old midfielder from Brighton, England. West committed to play college soccer at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Teddy has been with the Eagles since his freshman year. During that time span West has appeared in 52 games, accumulating 4616 minutes played, scoring 11 goals, and assisting five. Although this will be Teddy’s first year with the NPSL team, he appeared in both of the Armada’s 2023 U.S. Open Cup matches.

 

Max Lambertz - Max Lambertz is a 21 year old, 6-foot-2 midfielder from Möenchengladbach, Germany. Lambertz started his collegiate soccer career with Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, before transferring to Flagler College in 2020. During his three seasons at Flagler Max has appeared in 38 games, totaling 2517 minutes played, scoring 10 times and assisting twice. Although Lambertz was in the 2023 U.S. Open Cup squad, this will be his first year playing for the Armada U-23 team.

 

Tyler Richardson - Tyler Richardson is an 18 year old midfielder from Jacksonville, Florida, who attended Ponte Vedra High School. Richardson has spent his youth career with Jacksonville FC, and is currently playing for JFC’s U-19 MLS Next side, coached by Tommy Krizanovic. In 2022 Tyler committed to play his college soccer at the University of South Florida. Richardson also appeared in both of the Armada’s 2023 U.S. Open Cup matches. This will be Tyler’s first season with the Armada U-23 squad.


 

FORWARDS

 

Eduardo Coimbra - Eduardo Coimbra is a 24 year old forward from Curitiba, Brazil. Coimbra started his college soccer career at Goldey-Beacom College in Pine Creek, Delaware. Over the course of three years with the Lightning Eduardo appeared in 50 games, scoring 13 goals, contributing 17 assists, and logging 3133 minutes played. Coimbra was also named to the All-CACC second team two years in a row. After three years at Goldey-Beacom College, Eduardo transferred to Oral Roberts University in 2022. This will be Coimbra’s third year with the Armada U-23 team, scoring 10 goals in all appearances for the club.

 

Angus Taylor - Angus Taylor is a 20 year old forward born in Australia, who grew up in Morzine, France. In his freshman year at Georgetown College, Taylor appeared in 16 games scoring 7 goals. In 2022 Angus transferred to the University of North Florida, where he appeared in 11 matches, scored once, and totaled 512 minutes played. In Taylor’s first year with the Armada, he scored two goals and assisted three. Taylor will be making his return to Jacksonville for his second season with the club.

 

Keegan Ancelin - Keegan Ancelin is a 6-foot-4 20 year old forward from Jacksonville, Florida, who attended Fletcher High School. Ancelin spent his youth career with Jacksonville FC and the Armada FC Youth Academy. In 2021 Keegan committed to play college soccer at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. In his freshman year with the Argonauts Keegan appeared in 17 games, scored eleven times, and was named the 2021 GSC Freshman of the year and to the 2021 All-GSC First Team. As a sophomore at UWF, he appeared in 7 games, scoring four goals, and was named to the 2022 All-GSC Second Team. This will be Keegan’s third year with the Armada, previously scoring two goals.

 

Giancarlo Vaccaro - Giancarlo Vaccaro is a 21 year old forward born in Toronto, Canada. Vaccaro started his college soccer career at the University of Connecticut appearing in 22 games, scoring two goals, and totaling 1052 minutes of play. Vaccaro would transfer to Drexel University in 2021, playing in 18 matches, scoring one goal, and accumulating 805 minutes of play. Giancarlo is returning to Jacksonville for his third season, and looking to add to his goal total of four.

 

Luc Granitur - Luc Granitur is a 20 year old forward from Vero Beach, Florida, who attended Montverde Academy. Granitur became the youngest signee for Orlando City B at 15 years old when made his professional debut on March 30, 2019. Luc appeared in a total of 18 games for Orlando City B. In 2021 Granitur committed to play soccer at the University of North Carolina, before transferring to the University of North Florida in 2023. This is Granitur’s first year with the Armada U-23 squad in the NPSL.

 

Gabriel Christensen - Gabriel Christensen is a 22 year old forward born in Aalborg, Denmark. Gabriel spent two seasons at Coastal Carolina University where he helped the Chanticleers to a Sun Belt Conference Championship. In 2021 Christensen transferred to the University of Memphis, appearing 32 times, totaling 2030 minutes of play, while scoring three goals. Gabriel will be making his way down to Jacksonville for his first season with the Arnada.

 

Mason Duval - Mason Duval is a forward from the city of George Town in the Cayman Islands. Duval represented the Cayman Islands National Team at the U20 and U23 level with a recent call up to the men's national team. Mason committed to play college soccer in 2019 for Elon University, where he has been for four years. Over the four year timespan Duval appeared in 44 games, scored 7 goals, assisted two, played 2547 minutes, and was named to the 2022 All-CAA First Team. Mason will be playing his first season in Duval County with Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 this year.

 

Charles Eloundou - Charles Eloundou is a 28 year old forward from Yaounde, Cameroon. Charles Eloundou’s career has spanned several clubs and countries. Eloundou began his career with Cameroonian side AS Fortuna de Mfou. He played on loan with fellow Cameroonian sides Coton Sport FC and Unisport Bafang. While with Unisport he scored 9 goals in 20 matches. He would go on to appear for Cameroon’s national team, as well as the U-17 and U-19 sides. His play in Cameroon brought him to the attention of Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids, who signed him in 2013. During his time at Colorado Charles would go on loan to the Charlotte Independence and the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Eloundou signed with the North American Soccer League's Jacksonville Armada FC on March 10, 2016. During his two year tenure with the Armada, Charles appeared in 49 games, scoring seven goals. After his time in Jacksonville Eloundou went on to play for three teams in Cyprus; Nea Salamina, Anorthosis, and Ethnikos Achna. During his time in Cyprus Charles appeared in 109 games, scoring 16 goals. Eloundou made his return to Jacksonville and the Armada this year during the 2023 U.S. Open Cup, scoring against USL side Miami FC.
