U-23 Centerbacks Announced

The Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 has announced five centerbacks for the 2021 NPSL season.

 

“This is a talented group of centerbacks who are attacking-minded and have the technical ability to distribute the ball between and behind lines intelligently,” said head coach Tommy Krizanovic.

 

Jet Ulven returns from the 2019 U-23 season. He plays at Jacksonville FC and is committed to Northeastern University. As a USSDA player, he competed in over 100 games. He also played the 2020-21 MLS Next and UPSL seasons.

 

Marcus Murphy is a Junior at University of South Florida from Fleming Island. He came up through Clay County Soccer Club. With the Bulls, he has started all but one of the 40 games he has played total, with a 912 minutes on the pitch this season.

 

Elijah Howe is a redshirt sophomore from University of West Florida and originally from Australia. He played the previous two seasons with Goldey-Beacom College, starting all 19 games in his second season.

 

Dylan Bartel is freshman at University of South Carolina from Fleming Island. He appeared in 18 games with 17 starts his first year. Bartel returns to the U-23 team from the 2019 season.

 

Alex Smith a freshman at Georgia Southern University. He attended Sandlewood High School and played in the USSDA for five years. He played one match for the eagles in 2020.

 

Additional U-23 roster announcements will follow in the coming days. The team kicks off the NPSL season on May 1, on the road against Tallahassee SC.
