Patterson-Sewell Transferred to Toronto FC

Feb 14, 2018

The Jacksonville Armada FC announced on Wednesday that goalkeeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell was transferred to Toronto FC of Major League Soccer. The details of the transfer were not disclosed.

Patterson-Sewell came to Jacksonville in 2017 ahead of the NASL Spring season. He started in all but one match for the club during last year’s campaign. In his 2,768 minutes he faced 113 shots on target and completed 79 saves. His effort in front of the goal led to a team record of 10 clean sheets overall.

Born in Australia, the Armada FC obtained Patterson-Sewell from S.C. Farense, a Portuguese club in Faro of the Campeonato de Portugal. He played in multiple clubs in Portugal from 2011 to 2016 including Liga de Honra club Atlético Clube de Portugal and Vitória Setúbal in the Primeira Liga. Before moving overseas to Portugal, he spent time in the U.S. from 2005 to 2011 in the USL, NASL, and MLS.

"Our job as a club is to bring in the best players at our disposal, develop them and provide an opportunity for them to flourish,” said Nathan Walter, club president and general manager. “We gave Caleb that platform. I want to thank him for his services and wish him the best of luck."
